A beautifully rich pink pillbox, depicting a traditional courting scene on the lid, which has been decorated with beautiful gold detailing surrounding the illustration and around the sides of the pillbox along with a custom metal hinge and clasp. Crafted and fired in Limoges, France, this authentic piece carries a backstamp to identify the pattern and shape, this one is numbered 682. Added to the inside, "Sleeping Pills' delicately added by hand in a cursive lettering decal to add a touch of irreverent humour to this stunning vintage pillbox. Looks good on bedside tables and is perfect for keeping small things safe, while also having a backstory.
This stunning collection has been acquired from a private collector who spent his time travelling and collecting pillboxes from around the world; this is one of a set of four of Limoges pieces from that collection. These pieces date back to the 1950's and are stamped "Goudeville Limoges Made in France" on the base.
Lettering is printed and fixed to the pillbox permanently via the decal process, however... it is purely for display purpose.
